IITs and reservations

Just read another blog about IITs and reservations and felt sad for the guy. A lot of people seriously believe that reservations do help, like a lot of people thought (and bongs still do) that socialism works.
Ya sure, the upper castes messed up for a long time and suppressed the lower castes. But does that mean we Indians should produce substandard lower quality everything.

Yes people were oppressed in the past, you cannot fix that, it is in the past. Move on guys.
What you need to do is fix the present. In the present there are the rich and there are the poor, does it really matter if a family that is dying of hunger is a brahmin family or a harijan one. If you think it does, maybe you need to check if you have any of the little gray cells that Poirot loves.

We need to help all poor people lead better lives, the only real way to get rid of the caste system is to ignore it and not invert it (just to set the record straight, I am not a brahmin- but that is all I know about me, I could be any of the other castes ). Some will work hard and make it and others will not, those you do not make it, probably deserve to live the backward life, but we should give their children the same option. So how do we do this, not by reducing the quality of the IITs but by fixing our primary education system. All you morons who keep asking for more reservations, did you ever think about the problem of primary education, if that is fixed you will automatically create more IITs.

It is the thirst for knowledge and self-improvement that is needed in India. People need to understand and feel that their lives are in their own hands. And you can give this self-assurance to the kids through good primary education.
